More Security for Administrator Accounts With Two-Factor Authentication
08.08.2024 - ARTEC IT Solutions, specialist for data management and data security, releases version 6.9 of the AOS (ARTEC OS) firmware for the complete EMA solution. The introduction of optional two-factor authentication for administrator accounts ensures even greater security. Other improvements include synchronisation of email folders in Microsoft 365 infrastructures, a new system kernel, and additional functions for EMA for SAP Solutions.
Two-Factor Authentication for Administrator Accounts
To further enhance access security, firmware update 6.9 now allows the setup of two-factor authentication (2FA) for administrator accounts. The second factor consists of a Time-based one-time password (TOTP). This time-limited and single-use password can be conveniently generated using a common authentication app. Depending on requirements, configuration can be performed individually for each administrator account.
Improved Folder Synchronisation for Microsoft 365
Improvements to Folder Synchronization ensure that Microsoft 365 mailboxes can now be filtered even better in EMA. User accounts with non-existent mailboxes are automatically skipped. Customers working within a hybrid environment have the option to adjust this approach accordingly.
Updates in EMA for SAP Solutions
EMA for SAP Solutions offers ARTEC customers the ability to archive SAP documents securely and cost-effectively. With version 6.9, the latest version of SAP Libraries is now supported. Additional new features include a new object filter for SAP metadata, a test button for SAP tables to retrieve information across multiple SAP pages, and a function to retrieve information about stored certificates.
New System Kernel for Hardware Appliances
Customers using EMA as an on-premise appliance also benefit from an updated system kernel. This offers improved performance and stability, and includes optimisations for connecting to archive storage systems.

The solution covers all processes along the lifecycle of corporate data: from central capture to efficient, controlled use, secure storage and long-term, legally compliant archiving.
The update package 6.9 has been approved by ARTEC for productive use in EMA and can be installed manually. Automatic distribution will begin on 02.09.2024.
