Enhanced Security Architecture: ARTEC IT Solutions Releases New Firmware Update for EMA Live Archive
New Cloud Connector Migration and Automated E-Invoice Re-indexing
8 January 2025 - ARTEC IT Solutions, a specialist in data management and security, has released version 6.92 of its AOS (ARTEC OS) firmware for the EMA Live Archive system. This update significantly enhances EMA's security architecture.
Migration to New Cloud Connector
As part of this release, ARTEC has implemented its new Cloud Connector, delivering enhanced security and improved user experience for archiving within Microsoft 365 environments. Beyond Exchange Online, the connector supports additional cloud platforms including Google Workspace and other hosted email systems.
The new Cloud Connector brings substantial improvements to archiving security and oversight. An intelligent journal firewall automatically authenticates all incoming Exchange Online messages, verifying their authenticity and origin. IT administrators benefit from colour-coded icons for quick system status assessment, whilst a new machine-readable status monitor enables direct integration of key metrics into existing monitoring systems.
This Cloud Connector also lays the groundwork for future archiving capabilities, including support for SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
Automated E-Invoice Re-indexing
To support users with the new e-invoicing regulations effective from January, AOS 6.92 includes automatic re-indexing of all previously archived XRechnung format electronic invoices. This ensures that existing archived data remains accessible through EMA's full-text search and can leverage all newly introduced XRechnung management features.
Additional enhancements in AOS 6.92 include optimised integration of EMA Cloud with local networks. The update also introduces a technical preview of functionality enabling EMA to restore emails directly to user mailboxes in Microsoft 365 environments via the Microsoft Graph API, eliminating the previous requirement for SMTP transmission.
As a live archive and global search engine for corporate data, EMA is designed for comprehensive information management. The AOS 6.92 update package has been approved by ARTEC for production deployment in EMA systems and is available for manual installation. Automated distribution of the new firmware version will commence from 21 January 2025.
