4/11/2023: Extended functionality for holistic data management with EMA®
ARTEC IT Solutions presents ARTEC OS 6.1 with new workflow and security features
Karben, April 11, 2023 - ARTEC IT Solutions, specialist for data management, data security and live archiving, presents the new release ARTEC OS 6.1 for the complete solution EMA®. Designed for holistic information management, EMA covers all processes along the use of corporate data - from centralized capture and efficient search to secure, legally compliant storage and long-term archiving.
Mapping of tasks and processes through attribute-driven workflows
EMA 6.1 offers significant enhancements to the attribute system (Enterprise Attribute Editor), making it possible to easily implement even complex workflow scenarios. This allows, for example, approval processes such as invoice verification to be mapped in detail in companies and organizations. Incoming invoices can then be automatically linked to the respective responsible auditors or account names through the rule-controlled assignment of attributes. In this way, EMA can be used as a workflow engine for the distribution of tasks and the realization of individual processes.
Combination with Active Directory groups
This is also supported by the possibility of making the assignment of user rights around the respective attributes dependent on the Active Directory groups in which the user is located. Sensitive attributes are thus accessible only to authorized users.
Easier formation of files and department archives
The creation of records and department archives is also further simplified by the enhancements to the attribute system in EMA 6.1. This is ensured by a new function that allows a wide variety of documents to be linked and connected to each other, regardless of their type. The linked documents for which corresponding linking attributes have been defined can then be called up at any time via the viewer.
More flexibility for disaster recovery concepts
The security and disaster recovery functions have also been expanded again in EMA 6.1. Enterprises and organizations that have more than two redundant data center sites and/or more than two fire zones per data center will benefit from additional flexibility in designing their disaster recovery strategy by extending the EMA hot standby concept. With EMA 6.1, any number of standby devices can be used, each with a storage system. If no separate disaster recovery site is available, it is possible to operate an additional EMA instance in the ARTEC Trusted Cloud.
Overview of further innovations in EMA 6.1:
- Extended multitenancy capability
- GUI enhancements for mobile devices in the EMA app (for Android and iOS/iPhone).
- Possibility to run EMA in hyperscaler infrastructures
- Extensions for Microsoft Office 365
- Expansion of case management and eDiscovery functions
