11/28/2019: TPM-Fail: ARTEC Solutions Not Affected

Reports about a potential security vulnerability called "TPM-Fail" in Trusted Platform Modules (TPMs) are currently causing a stir in the IT trade press. Specifically, there is a possibility of attacking the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) encryption standard and reading out the secret key.

ARTEC customers, however, do not need to worry, because the TPM chips used in ARTEC appliances within the scope of "Trusted EMA®" do not use any ECDSA encryption. They are therefore not affected by the current "TPM-Fail" vulnerability and can of course still be used without restrictions.

Trusted EMA® offers special protection against attacks and manipulations by linking the appliance firmware to unique hardware features. This creates additional security for mission-critical data and helps enforce access permissions both on-premise and in the cloud.

Do you have questions about ARTEC's innovative security concept or would you like to know how you can ensure compliance and data security with EMA® as the universal solution? We are at your disposal at any time. We look forward to hearing from you!
