Enhanced Functionality for Comprehensive Data Management with EMA

ARTEC IT Solutions Unveils ARTEC OS 6.1 Packed with Enhanced Workflow and Security Features

Karben, April 11, 2023 - ARTEC IT Solutions, a frontrunner in data management, data security, and live archiving, is rolling out the latest upgrade with ARTEC OS 6.1 for its complete EMA solution. Built for comprehensive information management, EMA covers the entire spectrum of corporate data usage processes – from centralized data capture and efficient search capabilities to secure, compliance-approved storage and long-term archiving.

Map Out Tasks and Processes with Attribute-Driven Workflows

EMA 6.1 significantly expands its attribute system (Enterprise Attribute Editor) to allow the easy implementation of even the most complex workflow scenarios. This enhancement means you can now meticulously map out approval processes, such as invoice verification in businesses and organizations. Incoming invoices can automatically be linked to the appropriate invoice reviewers or account names through rule-based attribute assignment. Thus, EMA serves as a powerful workflow engine for distributing tasks and facilitating personalized processes.

Seamless Integration with Active Directory Groups

This feature is further supported by the ability to link attribute-based user rights to the Active Directory groups the user belongs to. This ensures that sensitive attributes are accessible only to authorized users.

Easier Compilation of Records and Department Archives

Also, the introduction of an enhanced attribute system in EMA 6.1 makes the compilation of records and specialized archives easier than ever. A new function allows for various documents, regardless of type, to be interconnected and linked. Linked documents, once designated with the right linking attributes, can be accessed through the viewer at any time.

Greater Flexibility for Disaster Recovery Plans

Security and disaster recovery functionalities have also received a boost in EMA 6.1. Companies and organizations with more than two redundant data center locations and/or more than two fire zones per data center will find additional flexibility in designing their disaster recovery strategies thanks to the expansion of the EMA Hot Standby concept. EMA 6.1 allows for an unlimited number of standby devices with individual storage systems. If a separate disaster recovery site is not available, an additional EMA instance can be run in the ARTEC Trusted Cloud.

Highlights of New Features in EMA 6.1

  • Enhanced multi-tenancy capabilities
  • GUI upgrades for mobile devices in the EMA app (available for Android and iOS/iPhone)
  • The ability to deploy EMA in hyperscaler infrastructures
  • Additional features for Microsoft Office 365
  • Expanded functionalities for Case Management and eDiscovery
